Welcome to the home page for the Barrio Neighborhood Plan.
Adopted in April 2018, it was the second plan developed as part of the Neighborhood Planning Initiative—a partnership between the City of Amarillo and Potter County. The plans are designed to build organizational capacity, form consensus for goals and strategies among stakeholders, and provide a roadmap for future public and private reinvestment.
The Barrio Neighborhood Planning Committee (BNPC) formed in 2018 to manage implementation of the neighborhood plan.
Neighborhood planning staff coordinates with the BNPC and its members to implement priority projects in the plan. A public meeting is held the second Thursday of the month. To learn more about the BNPC, please visit their website and their Facebook page.
