ACT-Connect™ Overview

ACT-Connect — Amarillo City Transit’s paratransit service — provides public transportation for certified riders who are unable to use fixed-route bus service due to a disability. The service focuses on reliability, accessibility, and helping riders connect to their day-to-day destinations throughout Amarillo.

Manage Your Trips with the Spare Mobile App

ACT-Connect riders will have a new option for scheduling and managing trips using the Spare mobile app.

The app allows riders to:

  • Schedule rides
  • View upcoming trips
  • Receive ride updates
  • Manage or cancel trips more easily

Riders who prefer to schedule trips by phone may continue doing so by calling 806-378-3095.

ACT-Connect Application
  • The application must be filled out completely.
  • The release of information form requires the passenger’s signature.
  • The physician’s form must be filled out by a qualified medical professional familiar with your disability.
  • After completing the application, please call to schedule a time for an interview and to submit your application. If necessary, you can request a complimentary round-trip ride to the ACT offices.

ACT-Connect Service Areas

ACT-Connect fares (based on ADA) depend on where your trip begins and ends (curb-to-curb). View the map below to determine your fare. These service areas are extended from the regular ACT Fixed Routes.

Inside the blue area (ADA): $2 per trip
In the dark grey shaded area (Outside ADA): $4 per trip

Schedule

Operated by Amarillo City Transit Monday through Saturday, except holidays, between 6:20 am and 6:25 pm. 

Reservation hours are 8:00 am to 4:00 pm, Monday through Saturday. Reservations for Monday service may be left on the answering service on Sundays. Messages will be returned with your pickup times.

Transit reasonable modification policy

Trained operators are available to assist passengers at the curb. Assistance does not include carrying objects for passengers. All vehicles are specially designed with wheelchair lifts and four-point securement devices.

City of Amarillo: Property Taxes Rebated Per Year by Agreement Type 

Overview 

The chart shows the dollar amounts of property taxes rebated per year over the last five fiscal years, broken down by agreement type. There were no Chapter 380 property tax rebates in the first two years listed. The total amount increased slightly each year, with a more significant increase in the most recent year.
