March 23, 2026 – March 27, 2026

The City of Amarillo has scheduled street maintenance projects for this week that will impact traffic patterns.

The projects:

  • Traffic patterns on North Grand Street will be temporarily adjusted Tuesday and Wednesday. North and southbound traffic will be shifted to the west in two-lane traffic. The traffic east and westbound on N.E. 24th Ave. will be detoured around the intersection. The temporary closure is to allow for the milling of the existing surface and the placement of a new roadway surface of asphalt.
  • Traffic patterns on S.W. 45th Ave. will be temporarily adjusted beginning Thursday (March 26). The eastbound lanes will be closed and traffic shifted to the north in two-lane traffic. The traffic control will be in place between I-27 Highway and S. Georgia St. The temporary closure is to allow for the milling of the existing surface and the placement of a new roadway surface of asphalt.

The temporary traffic adjustment for both projects is intended to safely route vehicles around the construction zone while minimizing public disruption. Motorists are encouraged to follow all posted signage and exercise caution when traveling through the area.
