The Amarillo Metropolitan Planning Organization Policy Committee meets quarterly and collaborates with local, county, and state officials to coordinate and develop transportation systems, ensuring effective planning, coordination of transportation modes, and proposing projects.

MPO Opportunities for Public participation

The Amarillo Metropolitan Planning Organization Policy Committee meetings are open to the public. Participants can participate in public forums, and share feedback through surveys. Community involvement ensures transportation planning meets local needs.

The Amarillo Area Metropolitan Planning Organization (MPO) is hosting a public meeting to gather community input on its Short-Range Transportation Plan—covering projects planned for the next four years. Your feedback matters!
The Amarillo MPO’s study area includes Amarillo, Canyon, Bushland, Lake Tanglewood, Timber Creek Canyon, Palisades, and Bishop Hills. Meetings are open to the public, with opportunities to share feedback to ensure transportation planning meets local needs.

Axel is the Amarillo Area MPO’s mascot, promoting safety and information about transportation to the citizens within the Amarillo and Canyon area! Axel is taking to his job with pride, starting on brainstorming how to get the information to the people! The staff of the Amarillo Area MPO are already hard at work getting him situated in his office, and working to find ways to help him promote awareness about bicycle and pedestrian traffic! Be looking forward to more of him as he surveys the Amarillo and Canyon Area!

City of Amarillo: Property Taxes Rebated Per Year by Agreement Type 

Overview 

The chart shows the dollar amounts of property taxes rebated per year over the last five fiscal years, broken down by agreement type. There were no Chapter 380 property tax rebates in the first two years listed. The total amount increased slightly each year, with a more significant increase in the most recent year.
