A water main break in the area of East Highway 60 is impacting water service to various entities, including Rick Husband Amarillo International Airport (RHAIA).
All flights – arrival and departures – are operating as normal and on-time at RHAIA.
The break involves a 20-inch water main. Crews are currently attempting to isolate the leak to make repairs. Additional outages may occur as crews work to isolate the affected line. Repairs are estimated to require 12-24 hours.
In addition to RHAIA, areas affected include Highland Park area residents, the Highland Park Independent School District and the Potter County Detention Center.
Repairs are estimated to take approximately 12–24 hours. This estimate may change as crews assess the damaged line.
RHAIA is providing temporary portable restroom services. Restroom services will not be available inside the Transportation Security Administration (TSA) security checkpoint.
