COA Announces Holiday Service Schedule

The City of Amarillo (COA) has released a holiday schedule for the weeks of Christmas and New Year’s Day. COA wishes the Amarillo community a happy holiday season.

  • City Hall will be closed Christmas Eve (Wednesday, December 24) and Christmas Day (Thursday, December 25.) City Hall will be closed New Year’s Day (Thursday, January 1).
  • The holiday service schedule for the COA Solid Waste Department:

Christmas Week

Residential Collection: Thursday routes will be serviced on Wednesday (December 24).

Commercial Collection: Thursday routes will be serviced on Wednesday (December 24).

Brush Sites: Normal schedule of Monday, Tuesday, Friday and Saturday from 8 a.m. to noon.

Landfill: Closed on Thursday (December 25) and will re-open on Friday (December 26).

Curbside Service: No curbside service will be available on Thursday (December 25).

New Year’s Day Week

Residential Collection: Thursday routes will be serviced on Wednesday (December 31).

Commercial Collection: Thursday routes will be serviced on Wednesday (December 31).

Brush Sites: Normal schedule of Monday, Tuesday, Friday and Saturday from 8 a.m. to noon.

Landfill: Closed on Thursday (January 1) and will re-open on Friday (January 2).

Curbside Service: No curbside service will be available on Thursday (January 1).

  • Amarillo City Transit (ACT) will operate on a normal schedule on Christmas Eve (Wednesday, December 24) and will be closed Christmas Day (Thursday, December 25). ACT will operate on a normal schedule on New Year’s Eve (Wednesday, December 31) and will be closed New Year’s Day (Thursday, January 1). ACT can be reached at (806) 378-3095.
  • Amarillo Public Library (APL) locations will be closed on Christmas Eve (Wednesday, December 24) and Christmas Day (Thursday, December 25). APL locations will close at 6 p.m. on New Year’s Eve (Wednesday, December 31) and will be closed on New Year’s Day (Thursday, January 1).
  • Amarillo Municipal Court will be closed Christmas Eve (Wednesday, December 24), Christmas Day (Thursday, December 25) and New Year’s Day (Thursday, January 1). Payments may be made at the drop-box in the foyer of the Amarillo Police Department or online at: www.amarillo.gov/municipal-court/
  • Ross Rogers and Comanche Trail Golf Complexes will be closed Christmas Day (Thursday, December 25). City golf complexes will be open all other days – weather permitting.
