Travelers and visitors to Rick Husband Amarillo International Airport (RHAIA) will notice a new construction project beginning August 14.

City council approved a lease agreement Tuesday with International Aerospace Coatings (IAC). The agreement includes construction of a wide-body aircraft paint hangar and additional storage building.

The construction project will be separated from active air operations areas with a temporary construction fence. The construction project will include the removal of the Remain Over Night (RON) ramp markings (R4 and R5) which are closest to the construction project.

Please see the included image for the work zone, locations of the new facilities, equipment staging area and the construction haul route.

The tentative completion date for the construction project is June 22 of 2026.
