Online Availability to be Temporarily Impacted

The City of Amarillo (COA) Environmental Health Department is upgrading its software system for public online services, including applications, renewals and inspections.

The upgrade to the software system will require a temporary pause for public online services.

The timeline is as follows:

  • Online services will be unavailable from April 19-27. During this time, no online applications, permit renewals, payments or inspection scores will be available. The new digital platform is scheduled to debut April 28.
  • During the temporary pause, in-person services will be available, including for applications, renewals, inspection requests and payments. Payments can be made by cash, credit card or check. Check payments will be held and processed after the system goes live on April 28.

“This software upgrade will require a temporary pause in our online capacity,” said COA Director of Environmental Health Anthony Spanel. “We appreciate the patience of the public as we make this improvement that will help streamline our online services for food permits, inspections, group care licenses, mobile food units, pools and spas and more.

“The Environmental Health Department will be available in-person and fully functional. We will be happy to help during this brief transition.”

The COA Environmental Health Department can be reached at (806) 378-9472 and is located at the Simms Municipal Building, 808 S. Buchanan St.
