The City of Amarillo (COA) Parks and Recreation Department (PARD), in collaboration with Outdoor Amarillo, is announcing the return of the Independence Day +1 Fireworks and Drone Show.
Independence Day +1 is free.
Outdoor Amarillo is a non-profit organization partnering with PARD to promote outdoor recreation and community engagement.
The event begins at 3:30 p.m. July 5 at John Stiff Memorial Park and will continue throughout the evening, ending with the firework and summer-themed drone show.
Free festivities include:
- Concerts: Performers include Cameron James Smith at 4 p.m., Piñata Protest at 7 p.m. and headliner Cooder Graw at 8:30 p.m.
- Beer Garden: Relax with a beverage – must be 21 or older to purchase.
- Food Trucks: A diverse selection of local food trucks, chosen by the public.
- Fun Zone for Kids: Children can enjoy the dedicated fun zone complete with games and activities.
- Carnival Rides: Three free carnival rides for the kids including a kid-sized Ferris wheel, swings and a swinging pirate ship.
- Cornhole Tournament: A doubles tournament for a cash prize. Pre-registration is preferred but walk-ups will be accepted. Please see the Parks and Recreation website for information.
- Fireworks and Drone Show sponsored by Austin Hose: A breathtaking display of fireworks and cutting-edge drone technology will light up the night, commemorating the spirit of summer. Tune into radio station 97.9 KGNC to listen to the soundtrack during the show.
Parking will be available on-site or shuttles will be available from the Amarillo High School parking lot and the Randall High School parking lot.
