Auditorium
The Auditorium is located on the southwest corner of the Amarillo Civic Center at Entrance 12. This raked, 2,300-seat proscenium theatre has no balcony, with ADA seating available both at the back of house, easily accessible from the lobby, and near the stage via elevator.
Guests pass through a spacious lobby before entering the house, with plenty of room to accommodate signage, merchandise booths, vendors, and more.
The fly system includes thirty-seven single-purchase lines and five double-purchase lines, along with five motorized electrics and one manually operated grand drape that travels in both directions.
For sound, the Auditorium is equipped with a JBL line array system, twenty-four microphone inputs around the stage, a twenty-four channel E.V. mixer board, and a 300-foot audio snake. A Clearcom headset system is also available, with jacks throughout the theatre and four wireless headsets that interface with the system.
Backstage, seven dressing rooms of varying sizes are located off stage left, up one flight of stairs: one large cast-style room, two medium cast-style rooms, and four smaller double-occupancy rooms. Every room includes a toilet, sink, and shower, along with a television monitor for viewing the Auditorium stage or basic local cable.
The dressing room area also connects to a larger production office on the venue’s lower level. Access to the production office is limited, so please contact our Production Department at (806) 378-4297 for details.
From the dressing room hallway, you can access the orchestra pit directly, which can be configured for musicians, lowered to floor level for audience seating, or raised to stage level for additional performance space, depending on your event’s needs.
With its scale and versatility, the Auditorium has been the host to a wide range of events over the years, from ballets to stand-up comedians, convocations, and other civic ceremonies. Whatever the format, the space is built to adapt to the performance.
