Layton Lutz of Scout Troop 87 installed the Story Walk as his Eagle Scout project. The Friends of the Amarillo Public Library, the Junior League of Amarillo, the Waite and Genevieve Phillips Foundation, Street Toyota, the Barrett and Carol Pierce Charitable Fund, Moore Smiles Pediatric Dentistry in Dumas, and one anonymous donor provided financial support.

Held several times a year, the Brown Bag Book Sale is a fundraiser for Friends of the Amarillo Public Library, an independent not-for-profit that supports APL.

The very first night of each sale is reserved for Friends of the Library members only. The sale wraps up with Bargain Days on the final day, with a Discount Sale taking place as the last sale of the year.
Every dollar raised goes back into the organization, funding the Summer Reading Club, ESL classes, program supplies, author visits, and other projects that taxpayer dollars don’t cover.
