Bag Policy

To ensure guest safety and faster entry into the venue, the Amarillo Civic Center Complex has implemented a bag policy limiting the size and type of bags allowed. Attendees may bring one approved bag, as outlined below, and a small clutch per person. All bags are subject to being searched.

Exceptions can be made for medically necessary items. Please contact Event Services at 806-654-1719 with any questions or concerns.

This policy applies to all ticketed events—regardless of venue—including Wranglers hockey games, West Texas Warbirds football games, Bombers soccer games, and all Amarillo Symphony, Lone Star Ballet, and Amarillo Opera performances.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

Why did the Amarillo Civic Center Complex adopt this policy?

Our clear bag policy supports safety and improves overall guest experience. Many sporting and entertainment facilities have implemented similar policies, and this has become an industry standard. Clear bags are easy and quick to search, reducing false alarms while allowing guests to move through security faster.

Each person attending an event at a Civic Center Complex venue may bring one approved clear bag no larger than 14″ x 14″x 6″ and a small clutch. All approved bags are subject to search.

The clear bag policy applies to all ticketed events, including hockey, arena football, soccer games, symphonies, ballets, and opera performances.

Enforcement for all other non-ticketed events, or events ticketed through a third party, will be at the event promoter’s discretion. While we strongly encourage all attendees to follow this policy to promote safety and consistency, please refer to the event page for the latest information.

Diaper bags are subject to this bag policy, meaning they must be clear and measure within 14″ x 14″ x 6″.

Any bag used for medical-related items, or used in compliance with the Americans with Disabilities Act, is exempt from this policy. This includes medications or medical equipment, such as breast pumps, oxygen pumps, or medical monitors.

If you bring a prohibited bag, a clear bag larger than our allowed size, or more than the allowed amount, you will need to store it in your car during the event.

We strongly discourage attendees from bringing unnecessary bags or items into the venue. Remember, weapons of any kind are also not permitted at any of our venues—including pocketknives. Leaving these things at home will help make lines move faster.

Whenever possible, we open no-bag lines to allow even quicker entrance into events.
