Amarillo Public Library cardholders have had access to two collections of downloadable ebooks and audiobooks. Unfortunately, one of those sources will be unavailable for some time.
A collection of titles made available through the Texas State Library and Archives Commission’s E-Read Texas program was managed through Baker and Taylor’s Boundless app. Due to the unexpected closure of Baker & Taylor, access to Boundless will end on December 15. TSLAC is exploring options to move E-Read Texas to another vendor, but a new app likely won’t be available until March 2026 at the earliest.
If you are a Boundless app user, now is the time to make a note of anything you have on lists within the app, such as checkout history, wish lists, and holds. These will not transfer to the new app.
Please contact us at the Amarillo Public Library if you have any questions. Our staff will be happy to help.
The GOOD NEWS is that the CloudLibrary app is unaffected by this change, and all Harrington Library Consortium cardholders will have uninterrupted access to CloudLibrary titles! Because HLC shares this collection with other libraries in Texas, our patrons have access to hundreds of thousands of e-books and audiobooks—free to download and enjoy!
