Establishing Service Customers are required to
fill out an application for service, sign a service contract and pay a
security deposit for water, sewer, and/or solid waste disposal accounts.
To establish service:
1. Come to the Utility Billing office, 509
S.E. 7th Avenue, Room 102, between 8:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m., Monday thru
Friday. A Customer Service Representative will help you with the necessary
paperwork to set up your account; OR
2. Complete the Application for Service ,
the Service Contract provided on our web site and mail the form along with
your payment (do not send cash) for the required Security Deposit to:

IMPORTANT: Please provide a daytime
telephone number so we can reach you should we have any questions about your
application.
Security Deposit
The Amarillo Municipal Code requires a utility
security deposit from each customer before service is established. For
residential service a minimum deposit of thirty-five dollars ($35.00) is
required. For commercial service a sum equal to twice the average monthly
billing is required. The deposit will be applied to the customer's final
bill when services are discontinued.

Bill Information
To ensure accuracy in our billing process, meters are used to measure water
consumption for each account in our system. The meters are read monthly to
determine how much water each customer used during the month. The volume of
water used and a fixed monthly service charge based on meter size is the
basis for calculating the water and sewer portions of the monthly bill.
A solid waste collection and disposal
charge also appears on each bill. Residential charges are based on the type
of residence, for example, single family, two family with one meter or three
family with one meter and others. Commercial rates are based on the size,
type and number of containers and the frequency of pickup.
A monthly bill with the minimum meter
service charge and solid waste collection fee will be sent and is due even
if there is no water consumption.

Online Payments
Pay through our website (www.ci.amarillo.tx.us) with your credit card (Visa
or Mastercard) or ACH transfer from your bank account. You will have the
option to enter a one-time payment or to enroll and save your utility
account and ACH/credit card information for easy access each month.
