Mission Statement
The mission of the Amarillo Municipal Court is to efficiently process and
administer all matters coming into and before the Municipal Court. The
Municipal Court strives to promote a high level of public confidence and
sense of fairness through efficient and courteous public service that
reflects well on the employees of the Court and on the City of Amarillo.
Jurisdiction
Cases that are filed in Municipal Court include (but are not limited to)
environmental violations, traffic violations, Class C misdemeanors, and
violations of City ordinance.
Traffic Violations
Traffic violations include moving and non-moving violations, commercial
vehicle violations, failure to maintain financial responsibility, no
drivers' license, etc.
Parking Violations
Parking violations include overtime parking, parking in violation of City
ordinance, parking in prohibited zone, parking in handicapped zone, parking
in a fire lane, etc.
Class C Misdemeanors
Class C misdemeanors (crimes punishable by a maximum fine of $500) include:
public intoxication, theft (less than $50), disorderly conduct, minors in
possession of alcohol, possession of drug paraphernalia, etc.
Violations of City Ordinance
Includes violations of juvenile curfew, park curfew, environmental
violations (pollution, land-development violations, health and safety
violations associated with food service establishments, rubbish at a
residence, and animal violations),etc.
Online Ticket Payment
Provides the ability to pay traffic tickets over the Internet. Notices,
exclusions and explanation on the following pages should be read carefully
before proceeding. Payments are allowed by Credit Card only.

Cases heard by the Amarillo Municipal
Court are Class C misdemeanor violations that have fine only penalties.
Jurors for the Amarillo Municipal Court are selected at random from a
list of voter registrations and a list of drivers license. Visit our
