HMIS AwardCommunity Development’s Amarillo HMIS Administrator Teresa Hook brought home to the Panhandle one of only seven national data quality “All Star” awards at the recent HEARTH/HMIS conference in Denver.

The Homeless Management Information System (HMIS) is a computerized data collection application designed to capture client-level information over time on the characteristics of service needs of men, women, and children experiencing homelessness, while also protecting client confidentiality.  It is designed to aggregate client-level data to generate an unduplicated count of clients served within Amarillo’s system of homeless services.

Amarillo has 57 licensed users and more than 29,000 confidential client records on individuals assisted by the city’s continuum of care homeless network of providers.
