Citizens have an opportunity to serve as board members on the various City boards and commissions. Boards and Commissions are established by local ordinance or resolution. They act in either an advisory or regulatory capacity. Although a few boards have special requirements, the only prerequisites on most boards are an adequate amount of time and a sincere desire to become involved in the Amarillo community.
How to Get Appointed:
- Contact the City Secretary for a list of boards and commissions.
- Target the board (commission, committee) that you are interested in.
- Make your interest, experience, talents, and qualifications known.
- Complete and return to the City Secretary the Board and Commission Data Sheet.
