S.E. 34th Ave. Traffic to be Affected

Amarillo, TX – The City of Amarillo Utilities Division is scheduled to begin a project to connect a new 36” supply pipeline for the Osage Water Treatment Plant to an existing 30” water main in 34th Ave. The project will reduce traffic flow in the 2200 Block of S. E. 34th Ave, just east of Osage St. to one lane each direction beginning Monday, July 2. By July 26, 34th Ave. is scheduled to be fully reopened.

“This is part of a project that will provide additional water supply to a new pump station at Osage during peak water demands,” says Floyd Hartman, assistant director of facilities.

Motorists are asked to drive with extra caution through the construction area during the month of July. We would like to thank residents and area motorists in advance for their patience during the project. The City and its contractor, Garney Companies Inc. will work hard to minimize any adverse effects of this closure to area motorists and residents.
